Free Trial Mastering
If you'd like to hear Grey's work before committing your entire project, you can do just that - for free.
Send us one song on a CDR. Grey will master this song for you and put the mastered version on a new CDR, back to back with your unmastered version (for your ease of comparison). We'll send both discs back to you by Priority Mail.
If you then decide to have Grey master your project, his normal pricing will apply for the entire project.
CD Mastering Price
We currently charge $45.00 per track for your mastering project. This includes:
- Basic digital editing: fade-ins, fade-outs, simple crossfades, sequencing, matching volume levels, inserting appropriate spaces between tracks.
- Grey's final listen-through to the finished master. This is to ensure that your duplication master is free of any flaws in the media itself.
- Two CDR masters, one duplication master and one reference copy for you.
- Data and file archiving of all mastering files and data.
- Priority Mail shipping of your master and reference CD.
Hourly Rates
If you prefer we can bill your project at an hourly rate. Mastering and digital editing is billed at $50 per hour.
In this scenario, data and file archiving of entire mastering session costs $25.00. CDR masters cost $7 (under 30 minutes duration) or $10 (30 minutes to the maximum of 74 minutes).
Other Costs
Be sure to consider the following costs when you are making an estimate or budget:
- Revisions in a project Grey has mastered, and non-routine digital editing:
- $50/hour.
- Clients often want more CDR masters as play copies or for early promo
use.
- Extra CDRs (under 30 minutes): $7 for each duplicate CD master. Includes CDR blank.
- Extra CDRs (over 30 minutes): $10 for each duplicate CD master. Includes CDR blank.
- Overnight shipping of CDR:
- $30 if COD.
- $25 if prepaid.
- $40 to $100 for overseas prepaid (email for exact quote).
- Rush turnaround (call for availability):
- Add $150.
- Same day rush turnaround (call for availability).
- Add $300.
- Includes courier to Fedex terminal for morning delivery (call for availability).
