Grey learned this traditional West Virginia fiddle tune in the early 1970s from the great fiddler Lisa Ornstein when they were both student at Oberlin College. Lis learned it from Bill Hicks who learned it from Frank George. The song resembles the songs and tunes by the same name that are sung and played in Ireland and Scotland.
