“MacArthur’s Lament” is from William Hauer’s 1878 compilation, Olive Leaf. Hauer also wrote the tune. The words are by The Hon. Walter T. MacArthur, written while a student at Tinity College, NC. The dulcimer tune, “O, Jesus My Savior” is from the 1844 edition of the Sacred Harp.
