Gordon first hear this traditional song on the radio in the late 1960’s, sung by the great collector, singer and writer Ewan MacColl. Soon after, he ran across the words and learned it, and taught it to Cindy when they met in the early 1980’s. The chords and bouncy rhythm are theirs, but Gordon still considers it Ewan’s version.
