Wally Bollinger was born in 1901 in Cincinnati, Ohio. A gifted and charismatic entertainer, he delighted his audiences with his singing and tenor banjo playing, always getting them to laugh, dance and sing along with him. Wally listened to local musicians and bands, many of whom were German, playing at the nearby parks, and he learned their repertoire along other popular songs of the day. Though he did not speak German himself, he could always satisfy requests for German songs. Here he is performing Peg o’ My Heart by Alfred Bryan and Fred Fisher (1913) and I’m Looking Over a Four-Leaf Clover by Mort Dixon and Harry Woods (1927) at the St. Lawrence Senior Citizen Center in the Price Hill neighborhood of Cincinnati.Peg o’ My Heart/I’m Looking Over a Four Leaf Clover
