These are instructions for accessing the contents and music samples of The Essential Guide to Irish Flute and Tin Whistle and The Essential Tin Whistle Toolbox companion CDs using your home computer. Please follow the instructions below for your appropriate system. The music samples on the CDs can also be played on any standard CD player.
Playing the Companion Contents
Microsoft Windows
- Insert the disc into your CD-ROM drive.
- The disc should automatically play and launch a web browser.
- If the disc does not automatically play:
- Open My Computer
- Open the CD-ROM drive.
- If a web browser does not automatically open, open the index.htm on the CD-ROM.
Once your web browser opens, you should be able to view the Companion Contents.
Mac OS
- Insert the disc into your CD-ROM drive. After a moment, two drives should appear on your desktop. One is labeled “Audio CD” and contains the music samples. The other is labeled “NEW” and contains the Companion Contents.
- Double-click the CD-ROM labeled “NEW” and the folder will open on the desktop.
- Double-click the index.htm icon in this folder.
- Once your web browser is launched, you should be able to view the Companion Contents.
Playing the Music Samples From Your Computer
Microsoft Windows
- Insert the disc into your CD-ROM drive.
- The disc may automatically play and launch a web browser. If this happens, close the web browser.
- Open My Computer
- Right-click on the CD-ROM drive
- From the pop-up menu, select Play. This should launch a media program (such as Windows Media Player) and begin playing the music samples.
Mac OS
- Insert the disc into your CD-ROM drive. After a moment, two drives should appear on your desktop. One is labeled “Audio CD” and contains the music samples. The other is labeled “NEW” and contains the Companion Contents.
- Double-click the CD-ROM labeled “Audio CD” and the folder will open on the desktop.
- Double-click the desired audio track and a media player should launch and begin to play.
